El AIA convoca arquitectas para exhibición en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico

El American Institute of Architects, Capítulo de Puerto Rico (AIA-PR) está desarrollando la exhibición titulada Arquitectas de Puerto Rico: Obras y Documentos para su Historia que inaugurará el próximo 15 de octubre en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico (MAC) en Santurce, por lo que convoca a las arquitectas del país a registrarse para la misma.

«Sean graduadas o profesionales, independiente del campo de especialización u ocupación, deseamos contactar el mayor número de arquitectas para que participen en dicha exhibición y estén presentes en el proceso. Queremos seguir su desarrollo, conocer sus retos, escuchar sus ideas, ver sus trabajos, saber cómo la arquitectura les ha servido en sus carreras o en profesiones aledañas, cuáles han sido sus triunfos y sus mayores retos. Nuestra meta es que las salas del MAC se conviertan en un espacio para reunirnos, conversar y compartir, pero sobre todo para mostrarle a nuestra isla el talento, la inteligencia, el empeño, el conocimiento y contribución de nuestras arquitectas», aseveró el Presidente del AIA Puerto Rico, Arq. Víctor Díaz Paunetto en la convocatoria.

La exhibición pretende continuar la documentación y exhibición realizada por Arq. Beatriz del Cueto, FAIA en 1991 que destacaba el trabajo de las arquitectas de Puerto Rico y el Caribe. En esta ocasión, la convocatoria desea «explorar cómo las mujeres que se formaron en la carrera de arquitectura han contribuido con sus talentos a nuestra profesión y entorno edificado en los últimos 50 años».
